I've been an artist pretty much my entire life. My mother, who gave up a career in commercial art to raise three children, was the first person to encourage my artistic endeavors. She also instilled in me a great love of children's books and fairy stories. My artistic style has been influenced by many artists. I have many favorite illustrators, here are a few of them: Garth Williams, Richard Scarry, David Small, Eric Blegvad, William Steig, Maurice Sendak, Edward Ardizzone, John Schoenherr, and Gustav Tenggren. I have a huge collection of picture books and I try to keep up with what's current. I also love reading middle grade and young adult fiction. It's been my dream for many years to write and/or illustrate children's books. Over the past two years I have devoted my free time to developing new work for my portfolio, much of which you can view on this website.
